JOFRA ATC Receives DNV Marine Certification
AMETEK Calibration Instruments is delighted to announce that the JOFRA ATC Series of dry block temperature calibrators is now certified to comply with the Det Norske Veritas’ (DNV) Rules for Classification of Ships, High Speed & Light Craft and Det Norske Veritas’ Offshore Standards. The ATC Series joins the JOFRA MTC, CTC and ETC series of temperature calibrators and the FP-1800 series of marine temperature sensors which already have DNV certification. The JOFRA marine program also includes the APC, CPC, IPI, APM, MPC and MGC pressure calibrators as well as the ASC300, CSC200, CSC100 and mAcal signal calibrators.
Fully certified ship-based temperature, pressure and signal calibration not only fulfills safety regulations but brings a number of additional benefits. These include traceability, energy saving and pollution reduction. Regular calibration brings optimum machine operation and efficiency, reduces unexpected repair and replacement and prevents turndowns of machinery.
The ATC series of calibrators offers a wider temperature calibration range (-90 to 650˚C) and improved stability (+ 0.01˚C for most models) for marine calibration. It utilizes innovative dual-zone heating technology for precision calibration of sensors. Independent heating control allows the lower zone to ensure optimum heat dissipation throughout the entire calibration zone, while the upper zone compensates for heat loss from the sensor-under-test and the open top. This design also eliminates the need for insulation of the sensors-under-test and allows calibration of liquid-filled and other mechanical sensors.
