Accredited Laboratories
Accredited Laboratories are determined to be technically proficient in calibration by calibration bodies, and provide calibration certificates in which the reference instruments used can be traced by an unbroken chain to National and International primary reference standards. Accredited calibration certificates are identified with the calibration body that has accredited them and certifies to customer the accuracy of the data contained in the certificate. AMETEK Denmark is accredited by the national calibration body, DANAK and Crystal Engineering is accredited by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation or A2LA. Crystal Engineering's calibration lab, located in San Luis Obispo, CA, is A2LA accredited for pressure and temperature equipment (certificate 2601.01).
DANAK, through the European co-operation for Accreditation (EA), and A2LA accreditation programs are based on internationally accepted criteria for competence and mutually recognized worldwide by the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and International Accreditation Forum (IAF). Calibrations from AMETEK are accepted worldwide.
"Traceable" calibration certificates are not the same as accredited calibration certificates. Accredited calibration certificates ensure that traceability of the reference standards has been verified by an independent body. A traceable calibration certificate is only an assertion that undergoes no independent verification.
