AMETEK introduces the next generation of PTC dry‑block temperature calibrators

AMETEK STC is pleased to announce the launch of the new JOFRA PTCt Series – a range of professional dry‑block temperature calibrators designed to improve usability, calibration visibility, and workflow efficiency.

The PTCt Series builds on the proven performance of the established PTC platform, maintaining high accuracy, stability, and flexibility, while introducing a range of new features that support modern calibration requirements.

Improving daily calibration workflows

The PTCt Series introduces an updated user experience designed to simplify calibration tasks and improve operational efficiency.

A new touchscreen user interface replaces the traditional push‑button operation, providing intuitive navigation, configurable screen views, and direct access to key calibration functions. This enables faster setup and easier operation across both field and laboratory environments.

In addition, the interface provides continuous visibility of key parameters through a fixed status line, ensuring that critical calibration data is always accessible.

Enhanced calibration visibility and control

The PTCt Series introduces improved visualization of the calibration process through graphical indication of temperature stability and progress.

Compared to traditional numeric‑only indication, this provides better insight into calibration behavior and supports evaluation of stability and uniformity during operation.

With the introduction of Option RG (Remote & Graph), users can also monitor and control the calibrator remotely via a standard web browser over Wi‑Fi or Ethernet. This enables greater flexibility and reduces the need for physical interaction during longer calibration sequences.

Efficient automation and multi‑sensor capability

The PTCt Series supports efficient and repeatable calibration workflows through enhanced automation functionality.

Improved Auto Step features allow flexible and structured calibration routines, while advanced switch test functions support multiple test runs and improved result handling.

Models with dual sensor‑under‑test capability enable parallel calibration of two sensors, increasing throughput and reducing calibration time.

A complete range covering multiple temperature applications

The PTCt Series consists of five models covering a wide temperature range:

  • PTCt‑125 – Low temperature calibration (–90 to 125 °C / –130 to 257 °F)
  • PTCt‑155 – General‑purpose calibration (–25 to 155 °C / –13 to 311 °F)
  • PTCt‑350 – Medium temperature calibration (33 to 350 °C / 91 to 662 °F)
  • PTCt‑425 – Extended temperature range (33 to 425 °C / 91 to 797 °F)
  • PTCt‑660 – High temperature calibration (33 to 660 °C / 91 to 1220 °F

This range enables calibration across applications from laboratory environments to industrial processes and high‑temperature industries.

Built on proven technology – updated for modern requirements

The PTCt Series maintains compatibility with existing PTC inserts, accessories, and calibration workflows, ensuring a smooth transition for current PTC users.

At the same time, the introduction of improved user interface, graphical feedback, automation, and remote connectivity supports evolving industry requirements for efficiency, documentation, and ease of use.
