Food and Beverage Industry
Food and beverages must be produced and stored at certain temperatures to maintain their quality. Even pressure flow through the process pipelines is also important to avoid blockage in the pipes. During transportation to distribution points and the consumers, products need to be contained under certain specified conditions. Accurate control of the whole process is therefore essential within the food industry in order to deliver high quality product to the customers. We specialize in producing calibration and test equipment for use throughout the Food and Beverage Industry. From digital test gauges and data recorders, to high accuracy dry-block temperature calibrators, we have a variety of equipment to help you do your job.

General Temperature Calibration – Temperature measurement throughout the industry is an important part of creating high quality food, where low temperatures could compromise hygiene and high temperatures results in wasted energy and higher costs. The RTC series with reference temperature probes provide accuracy up to ± 0.04°C stability up to 0.01°C. Features like countdown timers and stability checkmarks help the operator know when to take readings from the sensor-under-test. RTC, PTCCTC, ETC

Calibration of Sanitary Sensors – When quality is the focus in producing dairy products, maintaining high accuracy in the temperature sensors is key. The consistent temperature measurement of the RTC-156, helps avoid extra resources to adjust temperature of the process. RTC

Calibration of Short Sensors – When dealing with small sensors (6 to 8 cm), calibrating them can be a challenge as they aren’t long enough to reach the calibration zone of many dry block calibrators. With the RTC Reference Temperature Calibrators, this is not a concern. The special dual-zone technology extends the calibration zone of the dry block calibrator, to a point at which the short sensors can be accurately tested. In addition, a similarly short reference sensor can be used to further increase accuracy. RTC

Ultra Heat Treated (UHT) Milk – Every year, billions of tons of milk is worked into different products, including yogurt, butter, cheese, etc. The process for each of these differs but involves multiple steps of heating and cooling the milk. Keeping consistent temperature throughout this process is essential to creating high quality product. The RTC with a small reference sensor provides the quick, accurate, reliable temperature measurement required. RTC

Tank Level (Storage)
– Producers store their inventory in holding tanks, and an accurate pressure and temperature measurement of each storage vessel creates a record of their inventory on-hand. The nVision offers an easy and fast way to record accurate pressure measurements and the RTC measures and calibrates temperature. nVision, HPC40, XP2i, RTC

Transmitter/Flow Computer Calibration and Validation – Static and differential pressures, along with temperature are commonly measured to calculate flow, using transmitters and flow computers. Calibration and validation is needed to assure their accuracy. The nVision allows a user to complete pressure calibration and validation of a differential transmitter, our temperature calibrators calibrate the temperature component, and our ASC-400 simulate the signal to the flow computer. nVision, Temperature Calibrators, ASC-400

Datalogging/Data Recording in Wet, Cold, or Hot Areas – Record pressure, temperature, current, and voltage at up to 10 readings per second using the nVision. The battery-optimizing, Ultra Low Power (ULP) mode, allows an entire year of continuous recordings on one set of batteries. nVision, XP2i

Hydrostatic Testing/Leak Testing
– Pipe and storage systems are tested for their strength and leaks by pressurizing a liquid, and observing whether there is a pressure loss. Both the XP2i and nVision record the pressure test producing a digital record. Pressure and temperature can be recorded simultaneously by using the nVision. nVision, XP2i

General Calibration and Maintenance – Pressure gauges, pressure and temperature transmitters, transducers, electronic sensors, valves, regulators, and pressure and temperature switches need to be checked and calibrated periodically. The nVision offers multiple modules and special test modes for quick, easy verification. nVisionXP2i, 30 Series, MTCCTCPTCASC-400

Pump Testing – The nVision monitors inlet and outlet pressures and records from two pressure sensors, up to 15 000 psi, as fast as 10 times per second, to characterize the pump. nVision, HPC40, ASC-400 with APM

Filter Testing – The nVision can measure and record differential pressure at high static pressure directly across a filter. By estimating a filter's relative age and wear in this manner, a customer can save money by only replacing filters when needed. nVision, HPC40

Relief Valve and Rupture Disc Testing – Pressure safety valves and rupture discs protect pressure vessels and piping systems from excessive internal pressure. Periodic testing and adjustment of this equipment is essential to maintain overall safety. Our equipment catches the maximum pressure at high speeds (up to 10 readings per second) to complete and document the tests. nVision, HPC40, XP2i

Direct Pressure Measurement – Various places throughout food and beverage facilities will require direct measurement of pressure. This could involve permanently mounting an instrument or completed periodic checks. Our intrinsically safe instrumentation provides the flexibility and accuracy to confidently measure pressure. nVision, XP2i, HPC40, 30 Series, ASC-400 with APM

Barometric Pressure Measurementt – Some applications, such as calibrating absolute pressure gauges, will require the reference gauge to read directly in barometric pressure. The nVision and the HPC40 Series, with the optional barometric reference will indicate pressure in the absolute scale. You can even toggle between gauge and absolute pressure on the same device. nVision, HPC40, ASC-400 with APM

Specialty Baking – In many high end bakeries, the consistent regulation of temperature in their very large ovens is the key to creating high quality taste and look of their baking goods. In order to achieve this, these ovens have multiple sensors in different locations. When calibrating these sensors, speed and ease of use are the most important factors. The quick speed and small size of the ETC temperature calibrators are the perfect instrument to keep the ovens working at their best. ETC

Maintenance of Calibration Standards and Test Equipment - Portable calibrators and test equipment requires periodic checks and calibration. Having local standards on site for calibration of these instruments offers a savings in cost and downtime of instruments: calibrate the field instruments locally and then send only the standard in for regular calibration. The nVision and HPC40 Series are small, light-weight instruments that have the accuracy required to calibrate pressure in the field or in a lab. The DTI Series with an STS may be used as high accuracy temperature references. The RTC and PTC series are excellent standards for the verification and calibration of handheld thermometers. There is no better pressure standard than a deadweight tester for calibrating pressure instruments and our deadweight testers are designed to be highly accurate but durable. nVision, HPC40, DTI, APM CPF, RTC, PTC, Deadweight Testers, ASC-400 with APM
